This game was the second game of three different remakes of the classic Asteroids. It very closely resembles the arcade classic with the vector style graphics. Back in 2009, this game was an experiment as I attempted to perfect anaglyph 3D image rendering. After several hours of coding experiments and several blending techniques, I had discovered 'light blending' was the way to go. Oddly enough the images were always somewhat transparent giving them a hologram effect, which in the end I thought was kind of interesting. So I rolled with it, and it became a framework for future 3D games. Thus, later spawning several anaglyph 3D games for the H+Soft Arcade project. This game is quite fun to look at as it features a recessed back drop and several layers of 3D stars giving it a lot of depth. :: How To Play ::

Use your keyboard or game pad to control your ship. Use the cursor/arrow keys or d-pad/analog to move/rotate. Tap Left CTRL/Button 1/A to fire and Left ALT/Button 2/B to use hyperspace. Press Space to pause the game and ESC to quit at anytime. The aim of the game is to shoot, shoot, shoot, and blast that UFO for extra points - Have Fun!

The game download below is a zipped archive. This makes it easy to delete when you are done with the software. Once downloaded, go to the location where you downloaded the file. Right click and select 'Extract All' to unzip the archive. Open the unzipped folder and click the app icon to run the game. If you get a warning message and the game won't run, right click the app and click 'Troubleshoot Compatibility', then tinker with the different settings - Enjoy!
