January 31,
2010: H+Soft Arcade updated - Version 1.14
is
now
available for
Download.
This is a major update. Reg-istered users should
update everything - games included. V1.14
patches run time errors - such as black screens
or missing graphics in the games, and some
miscellaneous run time update fixes for Windows
Vista and 7. Mainly with the game 'Delete'
button on the bottom console - it should now
work on the newer Windows versions. Also, if the
game delete fails, H+Soft Arcade will now notify
you, rather than doing nothing. Game
Pad/Joystick bugs have been patched where needed
- they were not reading in on some of the games.
All games are updated to require v1.14. I
recommend that you completely remove your old
version(s) and all games from your hard drive
and start with a fresh full install of this
latest version of
H+Soft Arcade w/the
Updated Games.
January 9,
2010:
Wow! 2009 is gone! I hope everyone had happy
Holidays and a fun New Years! I have many
exciting projects planned for 2010. Several new
games for H+Soft Arcade including, completion of
a couple 3D games still in development, as well
as a new software I plan to develop. It's going
to be a fun one too I might add! I'm sure
several retro buffs will dig it, but I'm not
going to go into details just yet. While I had
mentioned 3D projects, I have updated my
Magenta/Green 3D Glasses page with some useful
info on obtaining or easily making 3D glasses!

Now, for some
important game development info! During my
holiday vacation from work (the dreaded day
job!) I managed to get a lot done on the
Versabot Project
for H+Soft Arcade.
The
game engine is about 98% complete! I hope to
release it for download on H+Soft Arcade in a
week or two! I am currently finishing some
additional collision tests, play testing and
wrapping up a few other minor issues. Plus I
have yet to make 8 more boards (levels) for the
game. If you haven't heard of this project, it's
a bit different from the normal retro/mini
action games I do for the arcade. Versabot is a
casual/logic board style game - of which I would
like release more casual or strategy type games
for the arcade, just for some variety and a
larger audience. Any hoot, in Versabot, the
objective is to choose (power) ROM chips in
sequence to get your robot safely to it's charge
pad with out running out of power or before your
opponent (in a two player vs. game) reaches
his/her charge pad. The game supports one or two
player game modes, obviously. It was
intentionally designed for two players - making
it much more challenging and fun. Much like a
board game, the game play is based on luck, a
bit of skill and carefully planed strategy. But,
I must get back to work! I want all of these old
game projects done ASAP so I can move on -
including Moon Raid 3D and Huck's Rocket Hero
POD 3D! These other two games are mentioned in
the
July 3, 2009 news post. |
